Dream Project - Super Shy!

For our fall promo, The CAT Agency asked us to dream big! 'What is your dream project?' I immediately knew the answer - to make an author-illustrated picture book (maybe a series?!!) based on the manuscript I wrote, called 'Super Shy!' It's about a dog at Puppy Kindergarten, learning new skills and being a part of a group of other puppies who seem to know what they are doing. Throughout the story, the pup learns to embrace the fact that sometimes it’s okay to feel small. Trusting its inner power, the pup discovers that what seems like challenges are actually gifts - superpowers! Inspired by my dog, Maverick (who just turned 3! Happy Birthday Maverick!!! 🎂🐾) and the many, many training classes we had together, and for the shy, quiet, little me.

THE DARK SIDE - AUGUST PROMO ART 'LOVE AND LOSS'

The August Promo Prompt for the Cat Agency was 'The Dark Side'. I decided to create a piece about love and loss. I lost my beloved cat named Sammy when I was young. He was so loving and we did everything together. I remember having a very hard time dealing with his death - It was my first real loss. I really enjoyed making this art and thinking about my sweet Sammy. I think it’s wonderful that we have better resources today and a deeper understanding of social-emotional learning and the importance of processing big emotions like grief.

'SPEAK YOUR MIND EVEN IF YOUR VOICE SHAKES' - RGB (My Ruth Bader Ginsburg Tribute Art)

We lost an incredible woman last week. Her mind and her voice have changed so many lives for the better. I especially enjoyed drawing this art. Thank you, Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
